Alexander first became interested in storytelling after taking a course in playwriting taught by Olivier award winner Simon Stephens, who soon recommended him onto the Royal Court Young Writers Programme. From there, Alexander’s plays were performed at the Burton Taylor Studio in Oxford and the York Drama Barn before he transitioned into writing short film scripts. His early short films found success, winning the main prize at London’s Portobello Film Festival and winning entry to BAFTA qualifying festivals such as LSFF, The Smalls, Deaffest and others.
Since moving into work as a commercials director, Alexander shot promos for the likes of Zayn, Sia, Anna of the North, Nina Nesbitt and TOWIE star Tommy Mallet, after which several commercials producers took an interest in his screenwriting.
His first feature film HIDDEN UNDER MOSS, a cross cultural love story about a British-Chinese woman who volunteers for Samaritans only to recognise the voice of a former Chinese lover on a suicide call one day, is now in development with Low Key Films.
